Leaking Cars and the Lemon Law
Knowing what is and what isn’t covered under the Lemon Law can be tricky business if you’re not well-versed with the ins and outs of the speciality law. That’s why I follow the Lemon Law Blog over at LemonLaw.com. Leaky cars can be especially tricky because it’s often considered a minor inconvenience (in that it probably isn’t initially life threatening as with other car problems – once mold set in though, it’s a different story). The recent post on the Lemon Law blog alerts us the fact that they have been dealing with leaking cars quite a bit lately. Aside from the fact that they suggest we take action, I was most intrigued about the fact that you should still do so even if it’s been repaired.
“…you have the right to file a lemon law or breach of warranty claim EVEN IF THEY EVENTUALLY FIX THE PROBLEM. Why? Because your vehicle has suffered a non-conformity which significantly affected its use, value and safety.”
It certainly makes sense and I think it’s important to let folks know about it. You can read the full Leaking Cars “Does a drip make you flip” post here.
There’s no shortage of car complaint videos showcasing leaking cars on YouTube as well. Here’s a good one. And of course there are more tips on what to do with leaking cars over at the Lemon law blog so check that out if you’re having problems
